Powertrain
The Powertrain team is responsible for everything that keeps our engine running at peak performance. From rebuilding and maintaining last year’s engine to designing and optimising critical systems like the intake, exhaust, and cooling, they ensure every component works seamlessly together. Their work involves a cycle of design, testing, and refinement all to maximise efficiency, reliability, and power output on the track.
Chassis and Suspension
The Chassis & Suspension team is responsible for the structural backbone of the car. The chassis serves as the foundation for every other component, while the suspension system connects the wheels to the frame absorbing impacts, reducing vibrations, and ensuring stability at high speeds. Together, these systems are key to delivering a safe, strong, and agile car. From design to in-house manufacturing, the team focuses on precision, safety, and performance.
Electrical
The Electrical team brings the car to life by designing and integrating all electronic systems. From creating the wiring loom and shutdown circuit to ensuring every sensor and control system can communicate effectively, they handle all the car’s critical electrical infrastructure. Their work is essential for safety, data collection, and enabling advanced features like the flappy paddle gear system.
Aerodynamics
The Aerodynamics team focuses on designing and optimising components that control airflow around the car. Their goal is to maximise downforce and minimise drag to improve handling and performance. Using simulation tools and testing, they ensure the car stays planted at high speeds while maintaining efficiency and balance on the track.
Marketing
The Marketing team is the voice and face of MCR MET Racing. From running our social media and documenting builds to creating sponsor content, organising events, and designing merchandise, they handle everything that connects our work to the outside world. They're also crucial in maintaining strong sponsor relationships and growing our brand.
